My 2018 Review

Writer: TOF SurvivorTOF Survivor

As many of us know, the year 2018 was no easy feat to get through. For some, it was a cakewalk. For others, like me, it was a challenge and a half. But, we did it. Each and every one of us had a challenge to conquer, and I think we have...more or less. I got hired, and fired, from one job. I left a church job after the lack of working with people almost made me go into depression, and I got hired, and not fired, from my current job at The Lab. Fun place, I must say. Thanks to my new boss, Paul, for allowing me to have this job. Given my...current situation, it really means a lot. Working with kids, who have Autism, or Asperger's is fantastic. And, those kids seem to like me enough.

I got to present my Autism speech at VFA, which, everyone found interesting, so thanks, Maria, for letting me have that opportunity to present that speech for the 4th time in my life. Maybe I can come back again this year and do it again.

I got enrolled a few weeks ago, last month/year into a new course, where everything I need to know is online, including the course itself. So far, I'm up to date with everything, and I'll be done in a few months anyway. Not that I mind of course, I do appreciate the opportunity. Thanks to APM, for helping me get this course. And a big thanks for nothing to DVJS, who, in my mum's words, 'gave us the runaround' for the 8 weeks we had with them. And, a thanks for trying, but not helping much to the Salvation Army, who, crazily enough, has their own job group which specialises in helping people with disabilities. Because my job seeker ID was missing though, at the time, they couldn't do much to help out. However, we did eventually get it, so now, I feel more positive that I can get a job in the future. Though, ideally, getting one this year would be great.

Anyway, hopefully everything goes alright for each and every one of us. May all of you have a wonderful year, overcome the challenges you face, and live life to the fullest. I know I will. HAPPY 2019, EVERYONE!!
