Climate Change, as we all know, can be a topic that many people simply ignore, because they don't believe it exists. Well, other people, especially kids are able to recognize that climate change is very real, and that the reality of it is scarier than any horror movie in existence. Yes, while you could argue that climate change doesn't exist, and your main argument is 'because we can't see it', then I counter-argue by saying that 'Climate change is very real. Besides, how do you explain the droughts, the unexpected heat waves in winter, and the not-so-warm-and-pleasant weather in spring right now'? Lost for words? I thought so. Once again, Australian Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, denies the existence of climate change, even going so far, as (at the time of writing this, and according to a news post I read), that any activist protesting climate change should be outlawed. Well, that was the general gist of what he was saying. To be fair though, some of these people were locking themselves in place using padlocks, glue, and even disrupting people's routes to work, so I guess that part is fair.
Regardless, kids around the world are able to recognize that this is a major issue, while people like Scott Morrison, and President Donald Trump, deny its existence, Trump, even going so far, as I believed I mentioned, as to abandoning the Paris Climate Accord, which means that we need to not so much become an environmentalist, but cut back on the pollution from cars, bad water, and inefficient and finite sources as coal, and other substances. And yet, despite huge mobs of protesters around the world, and in Australia, politicians, and other naysayers who would rather wear their rose coloured glasses, continue to deny that it exists. Although, according to the same post, coal wouldn't affect Australia as much as people think.
From the New York Times post, quote, 'According to the Australia Institute poll from last month, Australians believe coal mining accounts for 12.5 percent of Australia’s economic output and employs 9.3 percent of its workforce. “In reality,” the report says, “coal mining employs only 0.4 percent of workers in Australia and is 2.2 percent of Australia’s G.D.P.”Of the roughly 238,000 jobs that mining provides in Australia, only around 50,000 are tied to coal, according to government figures.', end quote.
Point is, global warming and climate change are both equally big. If we, or more importantly, the government, don't do something, this could very well be the literal end of the world, and we'll be the ones responsible for it. Well, ok, maybe not all of us, but the people who refuse to listen to the facts that global warming and climate change exists, they'll be to blame. Of course, let's be real here; anyone who's doing their part to reduce emissions from their cars, being conservative with their gas, electricity, and other utilities, anyone who set up their own compost farm, and created other environmentally sustainable ways to help reduce the greenhouse gasses, and using other resources along the way, well done. I congratulate you on a job well done. It may be thankless work from other people, but mother nature, and all the rest of the world thanks you for doing your part, and so do I.
If you think this is a big deal, or if you agree with anything in this post, be sure to let me know in the comments below, or if you have an issue you want me to talk about, I'll be more than happy to do so. Depending on what the issue is, of course. Don't forget to share this post, it really helps my website grow. Thanks again to all who read this far, and who continue to support me. Every little bit helps.
