There are many things I could be talking about in this post, that are scary in one way, or the other; Spiders, cause of all those legs, or their face, Heights, which could make you a stain on the pavement, the dark, not knowing what's there, or Public speaking, for talking in front of a large crowd. Why, I could write an entire blog post of what we're all scared of, and write why it's so scary. But I'm not. Because you know I'm not like that at all. No, the scariest thing for everyone is Change. I don't of course mean change, as in changing the channel, or what you're wearing. I mean change, as in, something different happening in your life, like going from Primary School to High School, or a change in your routine.

No one likes it at all. And this is best demonstrated, believe it or not, in a kids movie, 'The Croods'. To them, anything new is bad, and bad means dangerous, and dangerous means dead. It's not until one of the main characters of the story, Eep, meets with Guy, that the Croods are forced to adapt to change, going from the struggling hunter-gather style they've been fearfully living, to 'let's try and solve this problem a different way'. Throughout the movie, most of the Croods warms to Guy and his new ideas. Not Grug, the Croods dad, and husband, and son-in-law. Over time, again, most of the family, save for Grug, realizes that Guy will help keep them alive in this harsh world, while Grug will just make them hide, instead of trying something new, to which Eep tells Grug (near the end of the movie) 'That wasn't living! That was just...not, dying'!
Grug gets the hint, when his family is in trouble, that he does need to change in order to survive. He does so, by helping everyone, including Guy, who, during the start, he had a bitter hatred for, getting across a lava-filled ravine, with a thick wall of smoke and ash. He throws them over, getting them to land safely, or as safely as possible. He then makes a rather crude (sorry, couldn't think of anything else) flying device, which he rescues many animals in the process along with saving himself. They survived, and no-one died in the Croods family, because they adapted to change. So, with that movie, we've seen that change can be scary, but, that fear can be overcome, if you're willing to adapt too.
I feel the same way about people not willing to do like our chargers do, and adapt. I admit, when I was younger, I would dig my heels in, when there was something I was reluctant about, feeling like the whole world around me was crashing down. But, through therapy, I've learned that, sometimes, although change can be rather scary, we do need to welcome it, and accept that there are some things outside of our control. I had to adapt constantly when I was in Primary School, and even then, I only came out a little battered and bruised, figuratively speaking, of course. Now, I welcome the change more than I used to, and, although it does still scare me a little when I'm caught off guard about it, I accept it for what it is. Sure, I still feel scared about it, but not as scared. I'm more than willing to adapt to a situation and try to find a silver lining about it. You should too.
