Happy Holidays, everyone

Writer: TOF SurvivorTOF Survivor

As Christmas draws to a close for another year, we learn to celebrate the good times we have, with family, friends, or longtime acquaintances. My family today woke up to a tree full of presents, and Santa sacks bulging aplenty. While one member of my family couldn't stay for the whole day, we did make them feel like it was a magical christmas in our house. Each of us received many a gift, and had some good laughs. Some tears of joy were shed, and presents ripped open excitedly. I made sure to get each of my family members a meaningful, and practical gift from me, along with a card too. They loved it. And when we celebrated Christmas once again with my cousins (on my dad's side of the family), we had even more laughs, and joy to spare. Each of us playing the Family Feud board game I received. Shrieks and howls of laughter could be heard as some funny things were told. Heh, it's nice to celebrate with family. Even if it's a hot day, we still find a way to celebrate the holidays.

But, now, I would like to take some time to acknowledge those that don't have anyone to celebrate this joyous time of year with. Those people are either stuck by themselves at home, no family to spend the holidays with, either because they're away on a holiday, they cut ties with them for whatever reason, or because they aren't with us physically. They would be in spirit though. My only wish for this world is the proverbial 'pie in the sky', or the impossible dream; for everyone to be happy, and have someone to celebrate with. For a roof over the heads of those that don't have it, air conditioning for the hot Aussie heat, or heating for the frigid cold nights in America. For food to be in our bellies. and love to be in our hearts. I know I can keep on hoping, and I don't mind about that. As long as my family are happy, I am too.

One day, I hope to go to america, and achieve not one, not 2, but 3 lifelong goals; to celebrate thanksgiving, see a white christmas (snow, I mean. I'd love to see snow on christmas, like you see in the movies), and finally, go to New York, and see the Big Ball drop in...times square, I think it is. Correct me if I'm wrong there, cause I don't remember. Let your holidays be merry, your stockings stuffed full of goodies, and may you have a happy new year. Goodbye 2018, and hello 2019. I welcome it with open arms, knowing that, although this might not have been my year, next year will be for sure. I'm positive of it. I'll be posting in the new year again. Bye for now everyone. See you in 2019
